|

CSX Railroad and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) are requiring the existing at grade crossing of the CSX Railroad to close. Because of this requirement, in order to continue providing access to and from Vietnam Veteran's Boulevard, the City requested of TDOT to expand the original proposed scope of work to include a 4 lane connector road to be constructed approximately 1,000 feet west of the existing Saundersville Road, tunnel under the CSX Railroad, and connect to Gallatin Road next to the newly completed veterinarian clinic.

finance an unexpected road project currently estimated to cost $5 million. The

Gallatin Road must be removed, state officials say as a condition to the construction
